The IEA is responsible for the International Interdisciplinary Conference on the Environment (IICE), an annual conference initiated in 1995 that seeks to bring together academics, researchers, and practitioners who have an interest in approaching environmental issues from interdisciplinary or higher-order perspectives. Our goal is to facilitate the exchange of information among people from different countries, disciplinary backgrounds, and perspectives so that participants can hear and consider ideas that they might not otherwise encounter in their usual circle of colleagues. It is our belief that this type of cross-discipline and cross-boundary exchange is not only beneficial, but essential if we are to address the complex, multifaceted environmental issues of our present and our future. We think that you will find this unusual approach fascinating and exciting, and that it will open new avenues of research and exchange for you. Please follow the links under the Conference tab for further information on this year’s conference for general participants and for students.
